Kevin Kruse of Kru Research has unveiled a new video highlighting the e-patient movement with details from various sources such as information from Susannah Fox of the Pew Internet Project. It’s also a promotion for the e-Patients Connections 2009, a conference to be held in Philadelphia this October

Awesome video, Andre. Thank you for sharing it. What I liked most about it is the level of personal responsibility the stats portrayed. I personally think that when people are able to help themselves, they will.

As cliches go, “knowledge is power” is a pretty good one to apply to the world of e-patients. Enabling those with conditions, medications and surgical concerns to communicate with one another and manage their own health is fundamentally empowering. The social context also offers the possibility of making patients more engaged in their own welfare than would happen if they experienced their health problems in isolation.
