Wear Red Day Recap – Ladies of the Web

by Andre on February 22, 2009

Earlier this month I wrote about Wear Red Day, an annual all day event creating awareness of the impact of heart disease amongst women. I was interested in seeing how some others in the online world celebrated by wearing red and was happy to get some responses back from a few great folks.

Allison Bush is the producer for HealthCentral’s heart-related web sites. Thanks to her colleague, Sarah Park (who covers breast cancer) for sending in!

Next up, is Michelle from VeggieChic (a blog on all things vegetarian). Michelle is definitely helping me to learn to eat better!

Finally, we have the wonderful Connie Reece of Every Dot Connects with her trademark boa – exclusively red for awareness!

Ladies! Thank you so very much for the submissions and I’m looking forward to next year. In the meantime, let’s continue making those heart healthy choices and sharing them with all our loved ones.

Andre, thanks for including me in your Wear Red lineup! I have worked with the American Heart Association affiliate here in Austin (the South Central affiliate includes a four-state region) and I’m a big supporter of Go Red for Women. You might be interested in a blog they just started–not an AHA promotion, but a means of giving voice to five survivors of heart attack/heart disease. http://www.redaboutyou.blogspot.com/
