Spread the Word Sunday: Eradicating Child Poverty

by Andre on December 14, 2008

It’s no secret that poverty directly impacts the health and well being of individuals. How much more do you think it impacts the lives of youth? The Children’s Defense Fund is trying to end child poverty. According to their stats, 1 in 6 children – or 13.3 million young people in America are poor.

For more information on why child poverty is a problem and how we can help to make some changes, please visit their website for more information. While you’re at it, check out their Facebook page for continued interaction.

Hey Andre, wondering if you know the success rate/stats of the Virgin Mobile Homeless Youth awareness program? I thought it was a great outreach campaign, but haven’t heard boo about it since…(I’d wanted to blog it back then but it hit too late for me to ‘widget’ promo!) It’s an important reminder esp. in the season of sharing and caring when all too many kids ‘get the gimmes’ and need a solid bracer to think outside themselves.

p.s. Tx for the text msg., N.C., huh? wow. Big changes ahead. Here too, lots to tell…we should chat in the New Year and compare notes. Holiday cheer and good tidings my friend, –a.
