Spread the Word Sunday: Cover Your Cough!

by Andre on September 15, 2008

A focus of Pulse and Signal is on the use of communication tools to increase awareness and spread the word about public health and health education messages. With this in mind, I thought it would be fun to implement a weekly section that highlights some of these messages – both offline and online content.

Part of the reason I was inspired to do this occurred when I took a trip to the National Zoo last week and was sitting on the train and saw this poster for the prevention of influenza from the DC Department of Health:

Cover Your Cough Campaign

Let me know if this is something you’d be interested in seeing more of on Pulse and Signal!

The metro provides lots of interesting ads about public health, and this is a good catch! They’d be great to view on my previously 1.5 hour, then 45 minute hour commutes to work. Great idea Andre! For those in public health, the metro health ads are also a great inspiration on what may work and does not work for your own campaigns. =)

@Andre – I think it’s a solid idea. Sunday’s are relatively quiet anyhow so it gives you a cool feature that is relatively easy to adhere to while also providing content on a ‘slow day.’
